Page breaks in Microsoft Word divide your document into distinct pages. Removing them professionally ensures consistent formatting and flow.
Manual Removal Method
To remove individual page breaks:
- Place your cursor immediately before the break.
- Press the Delete key once to remove it.
View hidden characters via Home > Show/Hide ¶ to locate breaks easily.

Find and Replace for Efficiency
Eliminate multiple breaks using Find and Replace:
- Press Ctrl+H to open the dialog box.
- In Find what, type ^m for manual page breaks.
- Leave Replace with blank.
- Click Replace All to remove all instances.
Preventing Unwanted Breaks
Adjust settings to avoid accidental breaks:
- Select paragraphs at risk of breaks.
- Go to Layout > Paragraph > Line and Page Breaks.
- Uncheck Page break before or select Keep with next for block text.
