How replayify works? Simple guide to replay.

Replayify leverages your Spotify listening history data to generate personalized highlight playlists showcasing your most played tracks from the past year. It operates as an annual feature integrated within Spotify's Wrapped campaign.

How It Works

The process is automated and based on your account activity:

  1. Data Collection: Spotify continuously aggregates anonymized listening data for all users throughout the calendar year (January 1st to October 31st or early November). This includes counts of plays per track.
  2. Analysis Period: Replay focuses exclusively on data accumulated during the current year, resetting annually.
  3. Playlist Generation: Closer to the year-end (typically launched alongside Spotify Wrapped in late November/early December), Spotify's systems automatically compile your unique "Your Top Songs [Year]" playlist. This playlist ranks your top 100 most-streamed songs of that specific year.
  4. Persistent Access: Unlike some Wrapped elements, the Replay playlist is not temporary. Once generated, it's permanently saved to your library as a regular playlist under "Made For You" and is accessible year-round via the dedicated Replay website.
  5. Iterative Updates: Initially launched with the Top 100, Replay often updates periodically throughout the year. Your updated Top Songs playlist might appear earlier, sometimes allowing you to view a rolling version of your top songs for the current year before the official Wrapped launch. Check for updates.

Key Simplicity Points

  • No Action Required: You don't need to "turn on" Replayify. It works automatically for all Spotify users with sufficient listening history.
  • Listens Count: Placement on the list is solely determined by your total number of plays for each track during the eligible period.
  • Location: Access your generated playlist via the official Replay website. It will also automatically appear in your Spotify library playlists.
